Here is some photo taken during my visit to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park Recently.

 While various competeing DSLRs have had Live View, Sony’s implementation of the feature differs from most other makers as it offers autofocus speeds as fast as when not using Live View.

The A350 achieves this by having a secondary image sensor and a “pentamirror tilt system” in the viewfinder housing, giving you a fulltime Live View mode without the shooting delay and autofocus slowdowns found in other systems.

Other interesting features include a 2.7in LCD screen which tilts up and down (but not rotate sideways), 1200 zone metering sensor, ISO setting from 100 to 3200, Bionz image processing engine, D-Range Optimiser and Sony’s SteadyShot image stabilisation built-in to the body of the camera.

Soon to be available is the Alpha A300, which has all the features of the A350 but it comes with a 10.2 megapixel sensor and a slightly slower continuous shooting speed of 2.5 frames per second compared with A350’s 3 frames per second.

This new wave in digital cameras allows a vastly greater sensitivity to light, yielding better pictures.

CCD cameras, including most compacts, can be turned up to a sensitivity of about ISO 400 before pictures show grainy noise.

Pentax says the K20D can operate at ISO 3200, and with a custom setting even at 6400.

The camera can employ higher shutter speeds as well, freezing motion without blur, even in dimly lighted rooms.

However, Nikon has enhanced both the software and hadware to bring it up to speed with the rest of its newer models.  Nikon has also integrated an eye sensor near the viewfinder so that the LCD will automatically turn off when you put your eye up to the camera to save the battery.

One of the most interesting feature is that this new Nikon model has a totally new dust reduction system - not only the “sensor shake” mechanism to shake of stray dust particles taht have landed on the sensor’s protective filter,  Nikon also integrated an “Airflow Control System” which channels air (and dust) away from the image sensor when the shutter is opened.

As for the software, this Nikon new model comes with an interesting mode we haven’t seen in a DSLR until now - the Stop-Motion Movie.  It allows you to create stop-motion movie clips using a series of up to 100 consecutive JPEG files.

A few new Retouch Menu features, allow you to produce colour shading and sparkling highlights to your photos.  However, this new model missing one feature that’s now becoming common in other DSLRs - Live View Finder.  On the upside of this issue, this D60 come with a bundled kit lense at quite a bit cheaper than its closest competitor.

The d60 will also come bundled with the updated AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-15mm f/3.5-5.6G VR, which is much like the lense that came with the 40x but withoptical imagestabilisation added.

Compare with EOS 400D, the 450D now sports a new large 3 inch LCD with live view shooting (most notable - allows you to view and frame your shot using the LCD panel on the back), a larger viewfinder image, improved 9-point wide-area autofocus system, spot metering feature and self-cleaning image sensor.

Like all the new Live View-capable DSLRs, EOS 450D has 2 autofocus modes - the more common phase detect autofocus  and the new contrast detect autofocus which allow full autofocus without losing the Live View Image.

The image processing engine has been updated to the current DIGIC III image processor found on other higher-end Canon DSLRs, which means faster response time and 14-bit analogue-to-digital conversion - mean an improvement in quality.

Continuous shooting speeds also been slightly upgraded to 3.5fps & up to a maximum of 53 JPEG images (3fps and up to 27 JPEG on the EOS 400D).

The EOS 450D will also be offered as a bundle together with newly redesigned version of 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lense, whic has Canon’s Image Stabiliser built-in.

The major change in the EOS 450D compared with its predecessors is the switch to SD (Secure Digital) cards from CF (CompactFlash) cards.  The new SD slot is SDHC compatible, which means it can accept new, high-speed and high-capacity SD cards (over 4GB).
